Body

If you have been working out this winter, good for you! If not, it’s time to get your body prepared for the season. Stretching, yoga, pilates—all good. Developing a specific exercise plan for your body to help you achieve your goals. We’ll be hosting several classes with area fitness professionals and PT’s to get your ready.

Swing

Establish a practice routine to help you get back into a good golf rhythm. Set a goal to take 30-50 swings 3 times a week starting today! Whether you swing at home in your yard, garage or at the driving range or on the course, just swinging a club will do wonders for your body and help kick off the rust. Spend 10 minutes on the green, play 9 holes with one ball from different distances to get your feel back.

Sign up for a clinic, class or take a few private lessons if you want to get your swing on track or need assistance gaining distance or have general questions.

Equipment

Check your grips. Now is a good time to have them replaced if they are worn. Wear last season’s golf shoes during the muddy, cold days of early spring then around April 15 break out your new ones. If you are looking to purchase new clubs, look for Fitting Days or make an appointment to be fitted for new clubs. Read reviews, see what is new and then go try them. Having a custom built set is definitely worthwhile if you are passionate about your game. Time for a new golf bag? Check our pro shops before you buy online-great prices and you really want to check out the bag before you buy it.

Goals

It’s always a good idea to set some goals for the season ahead. Do you want to try to play in some tournaments? Establish a USGA Handicap? Join a League? Break 100, 90, 80 or 70? Go on a golf vacation?

Whatever you decide, the staff at the Baltimore Golf Academy is here for you to encourage you and help you make your goals a reality!
